Just the beginning...
My teaching philosophy as a physical education teacher is that to be successful you cannot just be a teacher that stands up in front of their class and says ok here's the game, here's the rules, here's your team go play. You have to show passion for your profession as a physical educator because if you show enthusiasm for being physically active, the kids will catch your excitement. Once they catch your excitement, it is important to make it so that physical education goes beyond just having fun in the classroom, I want my students to make being physically active a life-long habit and something that they are going to want to do almost everyday.
I also believe that you have to reach out to certain students. Not by showing favoritism or anything like that but there are certain students who will need that extra push in order for them to want to be physically active. These kids are often the kids that need you the most, since often times p.e. is the only time they are physically active all day, or they just feel shy in class and they need that extra push to open up.
